About Ogaron Realm I Created

The people who have already read my books will understand what I'm talking about. This is a realm where my books' adventures take place - the Ogaron realm, the land of a vast kingdom of dragons, Dragharon, with the wise king Daniel von Alden, and Lomon kingdom, where the Night Knight flies through the sky.
And my upcoming story takes place in Ogaron realm too - School of Flight! About Konon kingdom, where nobody believes in the existence of the school of flight, mighty school of Pegasus riding, but Ellie and Rosy Danon, two sisters, go to search it.

Ogaron realm idea first came up to me when I was writing Daniel and the Dragon Book, first volume of Daniel and the Mysteries. I wanted to place Daniel into a magical world, and I called it Ogaron, in the name of Daniel's tribe's, Helds' god, Ogaron. Then this realm needed also an evil character opposed to Ogaron, so I created demon Dragharam, the ancestor of Dragharon's kings, whose surname is Dragharam too. Dragharam dynasty was reigning in Dragharon for centuries, controlling all dragons.
In order to find out more about Ogaron realm, read Daniel and the MysteriesNight Knight, and the upcoming School of Flight! :)

Why It Is Good to Read

Hello guys :) Today we will discuss why it is good to read, and why we love reading. :)

First of all, it is good to read because we get to know more. There exists no book that doesn't give you more knowledge than you had before. All books contain something you didn't know, as you can't know everything in the world, but every person knows something, and when they write it on the paper and we read it, we get to know it too, that is how the knowledge is spread.

Reading books develops your imagination. Imagination can help us in many ways - let us think better, and view things better, so it is important to develop it, and what will help you, if not a book? Book is a greatest tool for developing imagination, as when you read through lines, you have to imagine everything that is happening, thus, your imagination flows.

Reading books helps us to expand our vocabulary. Rich vocabulary is often needed to talk and leave a good impression upon others. Books expand our vocabulary, as there always are some words we don't know, even if we're reading a book in our native language.

Reading books is fun. It is very important for people to have fun, otherwise, life will get boring. Reading books is a great activity for having fun, because when the story develops, we get emotional too, cheer for good characters, wish that bad ones would be defeated, etc. The most exciting thing is that we decide how each character will look and how beautiful the environment will be.

Thus, if you don't know what to do, grab a book and read! ;)

Proves of Why a Fiction Writer Can Be Considered an Artist

Hello, fellow writers! This is a special post for fiction writers. Here, we will discuss why fiction writers should be considered artists.
I always thought that fiction writers were artists, because:

  1. They always use their imagination.
Fiction writers mostly use their imagination to write books. Otherwise, you can't come up with a proprietor of an immense chocolate factory, or a rabbit hole that leads you to an unknown and amazing new world.
  2. Fiction writers use specific words to describe things better; they often come up with new beautiful words, if they need them.
Creating something new and beautiful, unique and emotional - it's art. Creating beautiful words that bring up people's emotions is indeed art, like creating beautiful music or drawing a beautiful picture.
  3. Fiction writers often get inspiration from different types of art.
Every artist needs to get inspiration from different types of art. Writers also get inspiration from arts - music, pictures, buildings (architecture is art too) and so on.
  4. Fiction books are artistic.
Fiction books are always artistic, therefore, their creators - fiction writers - are artists. They create amazing pieces, that can be rated as artistic creations, as well as music and pictures.
So, know that if you're a fiction writer, you can be considered an artist. :) Have fun and good luck in creating masterpieces!

Creating Good Secondary Characters

Hey fellow writers! :) Previously we discussed how to create a good main character, now let's talk about secondary characters, which also play an important role in story building.

First tip in creating a good secondary character would be: Whenever you walk out of your house, take a notebook with you, write down what people are doing, what kind of environment is around, what people are talking about, etc.
This will help us to create a realistic environment in our story, with more emotions, and make the story seem real.

Second tip: Give your secondary characters features of people you already know.
This is a good tip in general character building. To make characters seem more realistic, we should know the features we're talking about.

Have fun, and good luck in creating masterpieces! :)

Creating a Good Main Character

Hello fellow writers! Today we will discuss a very important topic - how to create a good character.

There are two types of characters - main and secondary ones. Main characters are used to build plot, secondary ones - to create proper environment, but both of them are very important to create a nice story.

Today we will discuss the tips for creating good main characters.

First tip for creating good main character would be: Main character must have features of writer themselves, or the features of a person known to writer.
This is important to create a realistic character. We know very well our qualities and flows, so giving them to our character makes them realistic. Also, if you know somebody very well, feel free to gift their features to your characters.

Second tip: Come up with character's appearance according to somebody you know.
To make realistic features of appearance, you must accord it to the appearance of somebody you already know. Remember, the character will have a diverse personality according to how they look, how you imagine them, so pay attention on their appearance. It must be fitting their characteristics. This is why the best would be to give them the appearance of somebody who really exists, to make their appearance and their characteristics realistic.

Third tip: Write down your character's qualities and flows, and write how they show them. This is important to make our characters seem realistic and lively. Reader must feel the book, therefore, they must feel the characters first, so let them be like in real life! Write down all their qualities and flaws in your notebook, and write also how they can show their features.

Example from my book, "Night Knight":

Adrian von Raben:

  • Clever - Comes up with a good strategy;
  • Mysterious - Always appears mysteriously and disappears in Raven Forest, the darkest forest in Ogaron realm;
  • Kind - Helps princess Lily to save her kingdom;
This is how your list should look like.

Have fun, and good luck in creating masterpieces! :)

How to Choose a Good Cover

Hello fellow writers! Today we will discuss a very important topic - how to choose a good cover. Although, we have a saying, "don't judge a book by its cover", many people still judge books by their covers, so choosing a good cover is essential.

How to Translate Your Book

This is a special post for those who translate their books themselves, just like me. :) It can be a hard job, but know that if you don't practise, you will never achieve high level in translating.

First tip when translating your own or other person's book: be as close to the text as possible. Some people like reading stories in original language, as there they sound more beautiful and natural than in translated texts. Don't make it happen! Translate all idioms and expressions in target language as precisely as possible, even if it needs you to look into hundred dictionaries (after all, every translator needs to look into a dictionary, it's essential when translating even a simple text. Don't feel embarrassed if you have to look into a dictionary, on the contrary, feel proud you're learning something new during your translating experience).

Second tip: Always find a good editor. People don't like when book is badly translated, so my tip would be, find a good editor to edit your translations. Preferably the editor would be experienced. They can correct all the little mistakes we make when translating a text in other language. :)

Third tip: Work with your editor. Remember, you should work with your editor in order to make them understand what you have written and also, know how they're changing your book. We all know that one single word can change the whole energy of the story, and therefore, determine if it is good or bad, so pay attention on how your editor picks the words, does it really suit to the original form? Is it what you meant in the beginning? Is it going to change readers' mood as you wanted to? This is very important.

Remember, picking an editor is a must, as when we work, our brain works on two languages, and when editor looks into our story, their brain works on just one, so they can better understand the language they're working in, than we, who sometimes mix the two languages in each other, together with their grammar rules and expressions. Editor can better see our little mistakes than we can, and their sharp eye can notice every single detail, so it is important to pick an editor to work on your book, not only when translating, but also when only writing. Writers can also make mistakes when working on a story.

Have fun, and good luck in creating masterpieces! ;)

Tips for Writing a Good Beginning

Usually, writers struggle the most with the beginning and the ending. Here we will discuss how to write a good beginning.
Please mind that no matter we, young writers, are often unacknowledged, we may still have some good pieces of advice to give. Here's what I've learned from my ten years writing experience (although I'm still very young, I've been indeed writing for ten years):

The beginning should often hook the readers. Imagine a person standing at the bookshop, not knowing what to buy, they will of course take a random book and look at its beginning. Even at a first glance they should get hooked, in order to continue reading. This is why the beginning is so important.

The first tip would be - always review the beginning, even if you haven't finished writing it. When you write down all of your thoughts and once stop to recollect some others and continue writing, I would suggest reviewing what you already have written. It helps to continue writing suitably for the previous text, and also to see if the beginning is really proper.

Remember, proper beginning will hook even the writer themselves, so if you read your beginning, and at the very first glance get hooked, your beginning is mostly the right one. Take a look at this classic:

Music for inspiring you

Hello fellow writers and all kinds of artists! This post is specially for you. If you want to get inspired to write or draw something, and don't have any idea (which often happens to me), then feel free to listen to Adrian von Ziegler's music, he inspires me every time I listen to him. One of my books, "The Herdsman of Wolves", was actually based on his music, "Part of the Pack", for which I thank him a lot. You can even listen to his music WHILE writing or drawing, it helps a lot, gives you emotions, and each of us know that feeling some kinds of emotions are essential when writing or drawing, as when our emotions flow on the paper, it helps us to express our feelings maximally.  Have fun, and good luck with your masterpieces! ;)
